ROWE VarioFold Compact – Large Format Folding Machine
The ROWE VarioFold Compact is a professional offline folding machine designed for precise and reliable folding of technical documents such as CAD drawings, architectural plans, and engineering prints. Supporting A0 and A1 formats, the system offers a compact footprint while delivering high-speed folding performance for busy design offices, reprographics departments, and print service providers.
The base system includes the folding unit and feeding tray, allowing users to manually feed wide-format documents for accurate fan and cross folding. With configurable stands, delivery trays, and optional software control, the VarioFold Compact can be tailored to suit different working environments and productivity requirements.
Flexible Installation Options
The VarioFold Compact can be installed either as a tabletop system or as a freestanding unit. The table stand configuration offers a compact solution for offices where space is limited, allowing the folding unit to sit securely on an existing desk or workbench.
For environments requiring a dedicated workstation, the height-adjustable floor stand provides ergonomic operation and includes a front delivery tray for collecting folded drawings. This configuration is ideal for print rooms and reprographics departments where the folder is used regularly throughout the day.
Delivery Tray Options
Output trays allow folded drawings to be stacked neatly for collection. The floor stand configuration includes a front delivery tray designed to hold a small stack of folded documents directly beneath the folding unit.
For higher volume workflows, an optional rear delivery tray can be added to increase stacking capacity and allow documents to exit behind the machine. This option is commonly used in environments where multiple drawings are folded consecutively and need to be collected in larger batches.
The rear tray is available with floor stand configurations and helps streamline plan handling in busy technical offices.
Technical Specifications
The VarioFold Compact supports media widths from 210 mm up to 960 mm and works with paper weights ranging from 60 g/m² to 120 g/m². Folding speed reaches up to 20 metres per minute, allowing rapid processing of technical drawings without sacrificing fold precision.
Standard folding styles include fan folding, cross folding, and accordion folds suitable for common architectural and engineering document formats. Documents are processed quickly and consistently thanks to ROWE’s precision roller system and electronically controlled folding mechanism.
ROWE Fold App Software
The VarioFold Compact can be operated directly from the integrated control panel using preset folding programs. For greater flexibility, the optional ROWE Fold App provides expanded configuration options.
The SE version enables advanced folding configuration with extended fan and cross fold settings, allowing users to customise fold dimensions for specialised drawings or map formats.
The PRO version provides the most control, supporting wider adjustment ranges for fan and cross folds and enabling precise folding setups tailored to specific document standards or internal workflows.
German Engineering
Manufactured in Germany, the VarioFold Compact uses a rigid aluminium spaceframe that provides excellent stability while keeping the system lightweight and compact. Precision stepper motors and microcontroller-based control systems ensure consistent fold quality across a wide range of document sizes.
ROWE’s patented roller technology produces crisp folds while maintaining quiet operation, making the machine suitable for office environments where noise levels must remain low.
